Bartow All-Stars offers competitive All-Star cheerleading in Bartow, Florida, serving athletes and families throughout Bartow, Lakeland, Winter Haven, Fort Meade, Mulberry, and Polk County.

Our All-Star program is designed for athletes who are ready to train, grow, perform, and compete as part of a committed team. Athletes develop skills in stunting, tumbling, jumps, dance, motions, strength, and performance while building confidence, discipline, teamwork, and friendships.

All-Star cheer is a competitive team sport—not a recreational class. Athletes and families commit to a team for the season and are expected to consistently attend practices, choreography, competitions, and other required team events.

When Are All-Star Cheer Evaluations?

BAS All-Star evaluations are held each May for the upcoming competitive cheer season.

Athletes are evaluated based on age, skills, experience, coachability, maturity, potential, and the needs of each team. Prior competitive cheer experience is not required to attend evaluations.

Following evaluations, athletes receive their team placement and begin preparing for the upcoming season.

 

How Long Is the BAS All-Star Cheer Season?

BAS All-Star teams operate on an approximately 11-month season, beginning with team evaluations and placements in May and continuing through the competitive season.

Because athletes are placed into specific stunt groups, formations, and routines, All-Star teams are not open enrollment programs.

Once team rosters and routines are established, teams are considered closed unless BAS has a specific roster opening.

 

What If My Athlete Misses All-Star Evaluations?

You don't have to wait until next May to get started.

The best way to prepare for a future BAS competitive team is to train with us throughout the year.

Bartow All-Stars offers cheer and tumbling programs that allow athletes to develop their skills, strength, flexibility, confidence, and performance ability before All-Star evaluations.

Athletes who are new to cheer can start with beginner cheer or tumbling classes, while athletes with experience can continue developing the skills needed for future team placement.

BAS team names, divisions, levels, and age groups may change from season to season based on athlete evaluations, eligibility, skill levels, and roster needs.

What Do Athletes Learn in Competitive Cheer?

All-Star cheer combines multiple athletic and performance skills into a fast-paced competition routine.

BAS athletes may train in:

How Often Do All-Star Cheer Teams Practice?

Competitive teams typically practice multiple times each week.

Practice schedules vary by team, age, and level. Additional practices may also be scheduled during choreography, competition preparation, or other important points in the season.

Attendance is an important part of competitive cheer because every athlete has a role within the routine.

When one athlete is absent, it can affect stunt groups, formations, choreography, and the team's ability to practice effectively.

Families should be prepared to make practices, choreography, and competitions a priority throughout the season.

 

Does My Child Need Cheer or Tumbling Experience?

Not necessarily.

BAS evaluates the whole athlete, including age, current skills, potential, coachability, confidence, work ethic, and the needs of each team.

Some athletes join BAS with previous cheer or tumbling experience. Others begin in our recreational cheer and tumbling programs and work toward earning a competitive team placement.

If your athlete is interested in All-Star cheer in the future, starting with BAS classes is one of the best ways to prepare.

 

What Ages Can Participate in BAS All-Star Cheer?

Bartow All-Stars offers competitive cheer opportunities for athletes across multiple age groups.

Team age divisions and eligibility requirements are determined each season based on applicable All-Star cheer rules, athlete evaluations, and the roster BAS can safely and competitively build.

How Much Does Competitive All-Star Cheer Cost?

Competitive cheer includes expenses beyond regular monthly tuition.

Depending on the team and season, expenses may include:

• Monthly tuition

• Registration

• Competition fees

• Uniform

• Practice wear

• Competition bow

• Cheer shoes

• Choreography

• Music

• Required athlete memberships

• Travel expenses, when applicable​

We believe families should understand the commitment before accepting an All-Star team placement.

BAS provides families with season-specific pricing, payment schedules, competition information, and expectations as part of the All-Star evaluation and placement process.

USASF Athlete Membership

Bartow All-Stars is a USASF-recognized All-Star cheer gym.

Competitive All-Star athletes are required to maintain an active USASF athlete membership, and BAS coaches maintain applicable memberships and credentials.

USASF athlete membership is completed directly by the athlete's parent or guardian. Current membership pricing, requirements, and deadlines are determined by USASF and may change from season to season.

 

Are BAS All-Star Teams Currently Accepting Athletes?

Our 2026–2027 BAS All-Star teams are currently closed.

Occasionally, a specific roster opening may become available during the season. In those situations, BAS may evaluate an athlete who meets the team's specific age and skill needs.

For most athletes interested in joining BAS All-Stars, the next opportunity for team placement will be during our May All-Star evaluations.
